I wanted my Katana to be my own so I started making my own parts. So Far I've made the seppa, fuchi, kashira, menuki, and mekugi out of brass ( menuki is pewter). I have also made my own tsuka with more curve and a little longer wrapping it fully in green same. The wrap is to follow shortly after I have wrapped my practice tsuka a few more times.

P.S. Welding thin brass is a pain in the .....well you get the idea

Soldering brass isn't hard, but it doesn't look as good either. If I had more equipment I would have actually cast the parts instead.

hmm - i believe you cant make any difference if you use right solder (some silversolders are about same colour as brass)
